World Suicide Prevention Day 10 September 2019

Today we get together with thousands of organisations around the world to help raise awareness of suicide and help reduce the number of deaths lost to suicide. Although we are talking more about our mental health, there are still far too many lives lost to suicide each year – deaths by suicide rose by 11.8% in the UK in 2018.
If you or a loved one are struggling, reach out and ask for help. Here are just a few services in Surrey that can offer wellbeing help:
The Welcome Project / Catalyst – 1-1 support, wellbeing activities and signposting
Safe Havens – out of hours support for those experiencing mental health crisis
Mental Health Crisis Line – Surrey – 0800 915 4644
Oakleaf – Wellbeing groups / activities – Guildford and Waverley
Canterbury Care Centre – Wellbeing groups / activities – Guildford
Mary Frances Trust – 1-1 support, wellbeing groups, activities and signposting

We will continue to offer our services and raise awareness about the work we do for people with mental health issues. We are attending a series of Mental Health Roadshows over the coming weeks and will be at Woking Borough Council on Wednesday 11th September for a Mental Health Roadshow focusing on Suicide Prevention.
